Memories of my dad

I have thought about my dad most of the day today. I cherish the memories I have of him. I was only 8 years old when he died. I often wondered how my life would be if he had still been alive. I had several dreams about him shortly after he passed. When special times happened in my life, I missed him being a part of those moments. Today as I visited his grave, my daughter was asking me about him and I had to explain to her that he was no longer with us. Even though he is no longer here, I will keep his memory alive by sharing stories about him to my children and other family members. To all who are blessed to still have your father, cherish days like today and make beautiful memories.

Just a word of encouragement

It is hard to believe we are in the month of June. In six months, this year will be coming to an end and we will be starting a new year. There have been so many things to take place that I have never saw in my life like Covid-19. So many people have been affected by this virus. Some have lost jobs, schools closed, and some churches closed. We have had to make adjustments in our normal routines. In addition to the virus, some have had to deal with sickness, death, stress and so many other things. With all of the troubles we are facing, I just wanted to encourage you to not give up. It gets hard sometimes but please keep pressing forward. God is still in control. I thought about this the other day when after the rain and thunderstorm, I saw a beautiful rainbow. It was a reminder of God’s promise to us. He is always with us. He loved us so much that he gave his only son, Jesus to save us. I just wanted to take a moment and share with you what was on my mind. Please stay safe everyone and may God continue to bless you and your family.

One year ago and now…

It is hard to believe a year has passed since publishing “Broken Vows”. I have learned so many things during this time and have met so many people. I am in the final stages of the follow up book and I just had to take a moment to reflect back. I thank God for all He has done for me. I am thankful on today for each of you and pray God’s blessings on you and your family. Remember God is still in control in these uncertain times. Stay safe!

Time….

For the past year now, I have made the comment, “I need more time”. I needed to spend more time with my family, more time to finish projects, more time to clean my house, and to meditate. Due to recent events, I got just what I wanted. I realize I take time for granted on so many occasions. I removed items that have accumulated over the years that are no longer needed. I had to throw away things and some things will be donated. If I had managed my time more wisely, I may not have needed more time. I could have taken a moment to remove an outfit that I had outgrown years ago and then I would not have had ten outfits taking up space. I could have put my phone down for ten minutes and meditated instead of playing a game. After a suggestion from a friend on last week, I started family night. We all had to put our phones downs for 10 minutes and spent time together with no distractions. This week that 10 minutes turned into an hour. We all enjoyed ourselves. These are all things I have taken for granted but I am taking the time to do better. I encourage you to do the same. Time is a valuable, make the most of it because once it is gone, we can not get it back. Stay safe everyone!
