Keep working to make your dream a reality

I wanted to encourage you today to keep working to reach the goal you are trying so hard to accomplish. I am constantly busy working, writing and doing all I can to make my dreams a reality. If I never did anything then I would not go anywhere. If I have a thought, I write it down. I have several vision boards, journals and writings. I begin to look back at some of the things I have written over the years that I wanted to accomplish. I did not realize that several things have already come to past. I thank God for blessing me. I think back to when I had written my first book and the time it took. I was fearful that I would not succeed because I was doing something I had never done before. I had several pieces of the story that I had written all along and I put them all together and ended up with my first fiction book. There were some people that have encouraged me and others who were not supportive. It hurts sometimes when you support others and you do not receive the same support back. It also hurts when you make a dream known and you get so many negative comments until you feel defeated before you even begin. When this happens I learned that if you have a made up mind, listen to the negative and make it a positive. People are entitled to their own opinions and that is what makes us all unique. I love constructive criticism because it makes me work harder to become a better in what it is I am doing at the time. I have learned so much and I am still learning. I just wanted to encourage you on today that no matter what, keep working to reach your goals.

You can make it if you try…

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Asya Branch at the Rock Solid Black History program. She was the speaker and the theme was, “you can make it if you try”. She had a very inspiring message and she really was motivating. I encourage you on today with the same message. It is so easy to give up, whether it’s from doubt, fear or any excuse you may come up with. If you do not try, you never know what the outcome would’ve been. Keep trying, if you fail, try again. You never know what is waiting at the finish line. Surround yourself with positivity and positive people. Proverbs 3:4-6, “So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”. Enjoy your day!

New Year, New Beginnings…

I hope everyone is enjoying the New Year. I am thankful for 2020. It is a New Year and new beginnings for all of us. We were all blessed to still be here and no better time then now to make your dreams a reality. I am looking forward to releasing my second fiction book this year. I hope you all enjoy it just as much as the first book. It is a continuation of the first book. I will begin sharing more information about it in the next few months. Take care and blessings to you and your family.

Merry Christmas!!!

I want to take this moment to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Thank you for your support this year. I appreciate you following the blog. We all have busy schedules and I thank you for taking time out to read the blog. I thank you for purchasing my book and for the encouraging words you have given me along this journey. I hope it continues into the New Year and from here on out. Merry Christmas and may God continue to bless you and your family.

Celebrating the holidays…

Many people are celebrating the holidays with family and friends. Christmas and New Year’s are a busy time of the year. Office parties, Christmas parties, gift exchange and store sales are all familiar things that take place. It is a very happy time. I remember looking forward to opening presents on Christmas morning and smelling the aroma of my mother’s sweet potato pies and fruit cake cooking in the oven. The excitement of opening a gift and not knowing what was inside, was priceless. Sometimes I may not have gotten what I wanted, but the love in which it was given was heartfelt. Love is so important during the holidays. We give gifts as a expression of love to celebrate the birth of Jesus. As we celebrate this year, and make new memories, take a moment to show love. It does not cost you anything to smile, hold the door open, speak a kind word to a stranger, call a friend or family member, or visit people. During this happy time of the year, there are also many people that have difficult times during the holidays. Some have to work and may not be able to be with family and friends. There are also people who are lonely thinking about love ones that have passed away and may find it hard to find joy in the holidays. As I often say, you never know what someone else may be experiencing in their life. Sometimes people mask their pain behind a smile. When you take a minute to show love, you have made another person’s day a little brighter. So enjoy your holidays, give a word of encouragement, smile and treat others like you would like to be treated and show a little love.

The next book…..

First, I would like to thank all of you for being a part of this journey with me. The process in writing a book is no easy task but if you made up your mind and are willing to do the work, you will end up with a published book. Since I published my first book, I have met so many people. I have met readers who share my love of reading and writing books. I can not say thank you enough for all of the prayers and support. I have so many people ask me, when will you publish the next book? I am writing the final chapters of the next book now. I just wanted to give you all an update . I’m excited and hope you will enjoy this story just as much as you enjoyed the first one.

Why I am thankful ….

As we approach the Thanksgiving season, I am taking time to reflect on why I am thankful. First of all, I am thankful to God for my life. I am thankful for my family and friends. I am thankful that God has allowed me to see some of my dreams come to reality. I was just telling someone today that this year was the year that I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to walk by faith depending on God to lead me in his direction and not my own. I am thankful He has opened so many doors for me. Everyday is not sunshine and on the bad days, He has been with me to comfort me. As we are approaching the holiday season, take time to reflect on this year and why you are thankful. May God bless each of you!
